Fell End Caravan park
Fell End is a visit Britian 5 star park and has been the recipient of the David Bellamy award for many years. It is a woodland oasis of peace and tranquility abounding with wildlife all year round. Twenty eight acres of meadow and woodland have been transformed by landcsaping with natural limestone,tree planting and the addition of flowering shrubs and bulbs to make a garden like setting.
Fell End is open from the 1st March to the 15th January,giving you a 10 and a half month season. On site you have a shop which is situated in reception & caters for all your requirements.Want to keep the children occupied? Well we have a childrens play area and bowling green in the centre of the site. You are also welcome to travel the 5 minute drive upto the Lakeland Leisure Village where you can have full use of the Pure Leisure Club and its bar and restaurant.
Hallmore Caravan Park
Just half a mile from Fell End ,Hallmore is situated in a typical farm setting surrounded by 10 acres of meadow and woodland and is renowned for the variety of walks and wildlife. Opposite the park are a fly fishery with a well stocked trout lake and a mixed coarse fishery. This small and friendly park is a favourite for those wanting to escape to the countryside and leave the hectic life of the city behind.And of course all our home owners at Hallmore are welcome to use all facilities on Fell End and at the Lakeland Leisure Village.

Both our parks are situated in the Arnside and Silverdale area of natural beauty,they are an ideal base for visiting the Lake District.There are many small towns and villages which hold events,shows and galas for you to attend whilst you are using your holiday home,they also accommodate some of the most beautiful pieces of scenery and attractions for you to go and visit.
We are situated on both the Lancashire and Cumbria designated cycle routes.
I have selected a few of the places of interest for your information and all are within a 20 minute drive of our parks.
Arnside
Arnside is a two mile drive away and is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.It has many sites of scientific interest because of the unique and rare butterflies and alpine plants that can be found around the limestone pavements.
The promenade in Arnside is lined by many small shops and after a walk along the promenade looking over towards Grange and the Lakes peaks a sit down at one of the pubs either The Albion or Fighting Cocks is well earned whilst you can watch the salmon leaping or watch for the tidal bore as the tide comes in.
Arnside knott connects many woodland walks which can take you upto the “Pepper Pot” at Silverdale or around the coast with its cliff top walks and sea views.
The Pele Towers and The Fairy Steps are two of the main Attractions within Arnside and Silverdale which are two beautiful peices of historical scenery.Suposedly if you climb the Fairy Steps without touching the limestone sides the fairies will grant your wish.

A small village is situated within the Arnside and Silverdale area called Beetham.Beetham is a village of grey limestone cottages and cobbled fourcourts.
There are many historical attractions for you to visit such as Heron Corn Mill,this is one of the few working mills in the area and has a 14 foot high water wheel which powers all the machinery.Beetham Church is a very interesting and educational piece of the villages history which is a place that we reccommend as a must see. The Wheatsheaf Inn is also a historic place for you to visit whilst in the village where you can sit have a drink something to eat and relax,it is one of many fine eating establishments catering for all tastes.
Yorkshire Dales
The Yorkshire Dales is just a short fifteen minute drive away where there is an array of festivals,galas,shows,open air markets and local village events. Each season hosts a number of unique events for example a traditional agriculture event and the victorian festival week is a must see if you are visiting the area.
There are also museums and galleries within the Yorkshire Dales for you to visit and explore.
Within the Dales there is the famous Devils Bridge built in 1370 as mentioned in the Doomsday book, which is a haven for bikers and walkers. The area is also commonly used for picnics,family outings and the river can be used for swimming in the warmer months of the year.
The name comes from the legend that the devil appeared to an old women and promised to build a bridge crossing in exchange for the first soul to cross it.When it was finished the old women threw bread over the bridge for her dog to chase thereby outwitting the devil.
White Scar Caves is also a famous attraction within the Yorkshire Dales.It is the longest show cave in Britian.If you choose to take a tour of the cave you will see many exotic cave formations formed by nature over thousands of years,gushing streams and waterfalls and hundreds of stalactites.It is an interesting and adventerous place to visit.
The Yorkshire Dales National park covers 680 square miles.The park has outstanding scenery,a range of wildlife habitats and a rich cultural heritage.
The National Park is a favourite destination for walkers and cyclists and also for painters and writers.Whether you are wanting peace and tranquility,adventure or a place to unwind the National Park will appeal to you.
Lake District National Park
Still the Uks number one visitor attraction area is only 20 minutes drive away and once you become familiar with the area you will find many different and varied routes through spectacular country lanes and views that alot of visitors never experience leaving the hussle and bussle of city and town traffic behind.
You can walk, cycle and splash about in the beautiful
Lake District
to your heart’s content. With more than 3,500 kilometers of rights of way there's something for everyone! This is an adventerous all round trip for all the family to enjoy.
Would you like to meet Peter Rabbit and all his friends in the magical World of Beatrix Potter? Well, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, the only Beatrix Potter themed attraction in
Europe
. Our attraction includes all 23 Tales by Beatrix Potter, brought to life in a magical indoor recreation of the
Lakeland
countryside, complete with sights, sounds and even smells.
Aquarium of the Lakes is also another main attraction within the Lake District which takes you on a journey through the life of a
Lake District
river. Starting in the mountains, you can follow a raindrop’s course down to the sea at
Morecambe
Bay
. Learn about a variety of habitats and enjoy close encounters with trout, eels, pike, perch, giant crabs, rays and many more. One of the highlights is an underwater tunnel where you can observe a number of fish as well as ducks that dive to bottom to feed.
A good trivia fact is that there is only one lake in the
Lake District
(Bassenthwaite) and all the rest are Meres or waters.
There are 3 towns close to our parks, Kendal Morecambe and Lancaster.
Lancaster accommodates many historical buildings such as the Ashton Memorial which was built by Lord Ashton in memory of his late wife. The first floor outdoor viewing gallery provides superb views of the surrounding countryside and across
Morecambe
Bay
. The
Lakeland
hills are clearly visible and on a clear day you can also see the
Blackpool
Tower
. The Butterfly House is also a main visiting point within the Ashton Memorial, here you can see different and unique types of butterflies flying around.
Lancaster
Castle
is one of the main historical buildings in the town where you can look around court rooms which are still being used to this day, you can also view the dark and gloomy dungeons where prisoners were kept.
Morecambe bay gives you one of the greatest views in England and is also home to the memorial statue of Eric Morecambe,more commonly known as being part of the famous duo “Morecambe and Wise”.
Shoppings arcades,restaurants,pubs and cafes can be found in all three towns giving you high quality merchandise,food and drink.
Milnthorpe is a small town about 5 minutes away which has local shops and supermarkets which will accommodate your needs. Milnthorpe hosts a local market on a friday which has alot of traditional and local stalls for you to walk around.
Carnforth is also very close to our parks but in the opposite direction to Milnthorpe.There are many local shops there for you to use and child friendly restaurants and pubs for example The Canal Turn which serves food and drink and The Carnforth Hotel which is a local pub serving fine ales,wines and spirits.There is a train station situated in Carnforth which is a main transport link and also very famous for its connection with the film “Brief Encounter”. The train station was one of the main sets in the film.Carnforth was chosen by the Ministry of War Transport as it was remote and safe from attack. Carnforth also has a rail museum and visitors centre situated by the train station. Here can you see the train station when it was first opened, you can read about the history of it and Carnforth town itself.
